If you’ve ever flipped through an issue of Cooking Light or Health or Prevention or Fitness, chances are you’ve seen an article of mine, and chances are very good that a recipe of mine has graced your table at some time; I’ve been writing articles and recipes for major publications like those for over a decade. In 2009, I launched Nourish Network to take people beyond headlines and the latest new craze and show them how to nourish themselves, each other and the world we share through the food they eat.
As much as I’ve loved contributing to those magazines—my articles and recipes have reached literally millions of people over the years—I never got to see the impact they made. On the contrary, many people who have come into my kitchen tell me they walked away with their world shifted. They tell me I taught them it really is possible to cook fresh, healthy, delicious food on a busy weeknight and that they had no idea “healthy” food could be so fulfilling. They tell me that the feeling of being nourished resonated with them long after they got home and that they see food a bit differently now, they make choices differently than they used to.
And then it hit me . . .
I could walk beside people on their own journeys, encouraging them, challenging them, teaching them along the way, as their own personal mentor. That’s how My Nourish Mentor was born.
